We just wrapped up the Grandaddy of them all, High Point furniture market. It’s one of our very favorites!! We love showing off all our new designs, catching up with friends and seeing our awesome buyers! It’s such a blast to check out what the design world’s best and brightest have been up to and to share ideas and experiences, I just LOVE it! We always introduce our new collections at High Point, so many of our customers attend that it’s the perfect place to get their feedback on new designs. We had a crazy good response to the newly launched collection. And it’s always such a treat when people respond to our designs with such excitement and enthusiasm!
This spring’s collection was all about artistic forms pared with chic details and amazing materials. And I have to say, “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it!” Seriously, I can’t wait to get these pieces into our new home! So, obviously, I’ve got a major crush on our new pieces, but let’s get down to business and discuss what my inspiration was for the collection.
I’m a huge fan of all things chic, feminine and artful, I literally just can’t help myself. It’s what drives my creativity and what I’m drawn to. Natural stones like quartz and amethyst make my heart skip a beat, and a really good satin brass finish or hand carved detail makes me weak in the knees. I started working on the 2017 spring collection about a year ago. Scheming & dreaming, sketching and planning. I knew that I wanted to bring pieces to market that highlighted my love for natural quartz stones, and also wanted classic shapes that complimented the gorgeous materials we were using.
Our Apollo Collection is the stuff dreams are made of! Each piece is hand made from ebonized Tamo Ash, one of the most gorgeous and unique wood species I have ever seen! Each case design sits on top of a solid brushed brass base with tapered legs that bring a feminine form to the classic shape. And then for the cherry on top, I used natural quartz crystal points set in brass hardware for the decorative pulls. The random placement and varying sizes of the quartz brings such an artistic element to the pieces, just what I wanted!
Our buyers fell in love!! And I can’t wait to see these pieces in their projects and stores.
Our Stag Collection is just about the chicest antler furniture in the history of antler furniture! I’ve always wanted to create a really artistic version of the traditional mountain house staple. I’m from Arkansas, and I’ve seen some questionable uses of antlers, not gonna lie. But our new Stag pieces are on a whole other level.
Our Murphy Wall unit sat in the very center of our showroom and totally stole the show. Seriously, I can’t wait until this beauty is in our new home, I literally designed a wall for it! It’s hand crafted out of cerused oak with satin brass shelving, leg stretcher and hardware. The gliding doors on the lower unit hide adjustable shelves with thoughtful areas for component wiring, while the top shelves are a perfect spot to display all your pretties and even hold a t.v. if that’s your thing. Needless to say, Murphy got some love this market, he’s such a hunk.
Lastly our sweet Billingsley desk/vanity with it’s sexy feminine curves, satin lacquer and hand gilded details was a showstopper. The perfect place to write your weekly thank you notes or powder your nose while sipping on a glass of chard. I’m obsessed and this pretty lady has already staked her claim to a special corner in our new master suite.
As always we loved catching up with our amazing clients and friends in High Point and sharing our design vision and brand story through our showroom vibe and new introductions. I love market for that very reason, I get to create a little Emporium Home jewel box every few months and it’s such a treat! Also, market is where we get to see some of our very best friends. It’s basically like a really amazing family reunion with uber creative people surrounded by the most beautiful furniture, lighting, art and accessories in the world. Win-win if you ask me! Can’t wait to go back in October:)
